England, 1843: Twenty-year-old Rein Pierson embarks on a voyage to America to escape a past she is desperately trying to forget. She boards a steamship-one that conceals all manner of peculiar phenomenon. Aboard the ship, Rein meets Traith Harker, who seems like the embodiment of her dreams, but, like everything else she uncovers, he harbors a deep secret.
